Ep. 2: Supporting the Healthcare Industry During The COVID-19 Pandemic

When we slated today's Z-Band Tech Talk podcast, we planned to discuss Z-Band's appearance at the ASHE PDC Summit in San Antonio later this month.

However, when COVID-19 made its way to the United States, the annual ASHE hospital design and construction trade show was just one of many conferences canceled to help stem the spread of this communicable disease that has no vaccine.

Today on the podcast, host Shelby Skrhak sat down with Dan Helfrick and Chad Tully to discuss these canceled conferences, Z-Band's efforts to support its healthcare industry customers and what it's doing internally to handle such an unprecedented pandemic.

"There's just a lot of uncertainty, so we're seeing a lot of shows that are in May, June, July and August, for a lack of a better term, sitting on their hands and waiting to see how this unfolds," Helfrick said. "We're at the beginning of something that, frankly, we don't understand."

Z-Band has been reaching out to its customers to ask what type of technologies they think they'll need and offer their assistance.

"We're taking that feedback from them and seeing how quickly we can adapt to give them what they need," Helfrick said.

One possible use for Z-Band's video capabilities is creating digital signage with essential information and instructions for patients so that they don't have to come into contact unnecessarily with medical staff.
